The boundary between „male“ and „female“ is much harder in the digital world than in the physical. Stefan Mildenberger and Soma Boronkay are irritating a gender-swap filter for faces by gradually painting the face and body with abstract patterns. The digital shell of a face read as female dissolves over the course of the performance. The AR filter reappears on other parts of the body where it appears to recognize a face. Performance, documentary video and imprints of the face painting on paper form a unit. The performance is inspired by Rachele Didero and Adam Harvey.
